2026-04-13 MacBook upgrade

12:25 AM I tried creating a new blog entry via Copilot Cloud, but it wasn’t a great experience. The environment took a long time to start up, and context like attached images in issues in the same repo didn’t work — though to be fair, Claude Code had this problem initially too (we just worked around it). Cloud permissions are too strict. I also didn’t like the PR-based process — it’s not very interactive, and having to cc Copilot in every comment on the PR is tedious. I much prefer the direct, immediate feedback loop of Claude Code on my local machine.

2026-04-12 Thinking traces and chezmoi fixes

12:16 PM I have finally fixed something via chezmoi that has been bugging me. My AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md keep diverging on the support files across my multiple machines. The attempt I did today was to codify it into the chezmoi repo, rather than the user-level CLAUDE.md file which I feel is getting overloaded. I can already feel that parts of the user instructions get ignored often. Maybe it was because references are broken. I don’t know. Let me see if this fix fixes that.

2026-04-09 Subway delay on the commute

1:20 PM

While commuting to the office this morning, the subway got stuck right as I entered it at Sherbourne. Apparently there was an intruder at Broadway, and they shut down the entire line for several stations around that area.

Had to get off and walk all the way to Yonge station to catch the subway from there. By the time the situation was cleared and the line resumed, I was already well on my way to the office.

2026-04-08 Scotiabank card upgrade

7:26 PM

Got an email from Scotiabank about the Passport Visa Infinite card being renamed to Passport Visa Infinite+ on April 25, 2026. A replacement card with the new name will arrive in the mail over the coming months. The main new perk is complimentary 10GB GigSky global mobile data for 15 consecutive days per year, plus access to GigSky Travel Essentials.

Nothing to worry about — account number, balance, fees, rates, Scene+ points, existing benefits, insurance, and SelectPay plans all stay the same. Recurring bill payments and PIN carry over automatically. The only action needed is to activate the new card when it arrives and make sure the mailing address is current.

About

Hi, I’m Sandip. This is my personal diary — a space for thoughts, notes, and experiments.

Hello World

Welcome to my diary. This is the first post — a place where I’ll be writing down thoughts, notes, and things I find interesting.

Why a diary?

Writing helps me think more clearly. This blog is as much for me as it is for anyone who stumbles upon it.

What to expect

  • Personal notes and observations
  • Tech experiments and learnings
  • Occasional rants

Stay tuned for more.
